Unexploded grenade on Roborough Down blown-up

An unexploded hand grenade, which was found by a dog walker near Plymouth, has been blown up.

The device was discovered on Roborough Down, and the A386 near Clearbrook was closed while it was detonated.

Sgt Ryan Canning said the part-buried grenade was found early on Sunday morning.

He tweeted that it was not safe to move the grenade and it was later detonated by the Royal Navy's Southern Diving Unit.
