Dog walker hurt in Paignton hit-and-run crash

A woman walking her dog has been injured in a hit-and-run crash in Devon.

Police said they were walking on the pavement in Waterleat Road, Paignton, opposite Shepherds Close, when the woman was hit by a vehicle.

Police believe it was travelling along the road from the direction of Kings Ash Road.

Officers, who were called to the scene just after 07:30 GMT, said the vehicle failed to stop after the incident.

The extent of the woman's injuries are unknown at the moment.
