Two arrests after attack on elderly couple by baseball bat gang

Two men have been arrested by police investigating an attack on an elderly couple by a gang wearing balaclavas and wielding baseball bats.

The 77-year-old man and his wife, 70, were attacked by five men in their home on Redwell Road, Paignton, on 13 November.

Devon and Cornwall Police said two men, a 28-year-old from Torquay and a 21-year-old from Paignton, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

They were later released on bail.

During the raid, two watches were stolen as well as a platinum wedding band and a gold and diamond engagement ring.
