Woman arrested in assault inquiry after man hit by car

A woman has been arrested after a man was hit by a car in Plymouth.

The pedestrian was struck on Outland Road at about 11:30 GMT.

Police said they were treating the incident as an assault using a vehicle. The arrested woman, who is in her 40s, is being questioned at the city's Charles Cross police station.

The man was taken to the city's Derriford Hospital, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, officers said.

The road was closed for an investigation by CID officers before being fully reopened about five hours later.
