Plymouth car crash driver rescued from tree

A driver had to be cut free and two children rescued when their car left a road in Devon and landed in a tree.

The Mazda was on the A38 Parkway in Plymouth when the accident happened near the Tamar Bridge just after 11:00 GMT, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to free the man whose injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The man was taken to Derriford Hospital. The children received minor injuries in the accident.
