Pensioner arrested after man found with stab wounds in Northam

A 72-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a pensioner was found with multiple stab wounds to his neck, hands and leg.

The 79-year old man was found by police who were called to a house in Northam, north Devon, at about 02:40 BST.

He was taken to North Devon District Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The woman is being questioned by police in Barnstaple.
