Fisherman airlifted from rocks at Bovisand

A fisherman has been airlifted to safety after getting stranded on rocks at a beach in Devon.

The Plymouth lifeboat was launched at about 14:15 BST to rescue the man from Bovisand, but the swell prevented the craft from reaching him.

A coastguard team was deployed to the cliff above to ensure the man was safe.

A spokesman from Brixham Coastguard said an RAF helicopter from RMB Chivenor airlifted the man, who was not injured, to the top of the cliff.
