Teignmouth seaside stabbing over bank holiday

A man was stabbed in the leg during an argument at a Devon seaside resort over the bank holiday weekend.

The 32-year-old, from Paignton, suffered a "serious knife wound" during the assault at 12:00 BST in Teignmouth on Sunday.

A 55-year-old man, from the town, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and later bailed.

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack which happened in the area of Clampitt Lane.

Det Con Chris Empson said: "This was a busy summer bank holiday weekend and there would have been a lot of people in the area at the time of the incident.

"Anyone who was in the area and who may have seen two males fighting or arguing at around midday to please contact us."
