A West Devon village post office that had been threatened with closure is to move its services into the nearby pub.
The Chillaton outreach post office had been operating in a privately owned building which is now being sold.
The owners of the Chichester Arms pub have offered to make space available for the service to operate from there.
Mary Taylor, the village's postmistress, said the pub was the "perfect place" for the post office to move to.
Mrs Taylor said: "It will make the pub a central part of the village.
"It is a perfect place for the post office to go into. There is only the pub, the shop has closed, the post office was closing, so to have that post office twice a week means a lot."
Joanne Attree, the new landlady at the pub, said: "[The post office] is very important because you have a lot of people who don't have transport, and there's only a bus twice a week."
