Launceston hedge catches fire after 'explosion'

A hedge fire in north Cornwall is being investigated after reports it was caused by a "small explosion".

The explosion - at Ridgegrove Lane, Launceston - was reported at about 22:45 BST.

Cornwall Fire Service said the fire, which was "promptly extinguished", was believed to have been started deliberately.

Police were trying to trace a vehicle that was seen leaving the area, the fire service said.
