Honiton house fire: Child and teenagers remain in hospital

Four people, including a child and two teenagers, remain in hospital after being seriously injured in a house fire in Devon.

The casualties were airlifted to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital after firefighters were called to Lee Close in Honiton just before 08:00 BST.

A three-year-old boy is being treated at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, police said.

A 17-year-old girl and 18-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the blaze.

A man in his 30s is being treated for smoke inhalation at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

A six-year-old boy was treated for smoke inhalation, but has since been discharged.

Police said eight people were in the house, seven members of a family and another person.

The cause of the fire, which has been extinguished, is being investigated but is not believed to be suspicious.
