Fire crews are investigating two gorse fires which took place on Dartmoor in Devon.

Two acres of land (8093sq m) at Cadover Bridge on the edge of Plymouth went up just after 19:00 GMT.

There was a second suspected arson attack on grassland around Two Bridges near Princetown at 19:40 GMT.

A large area of gorse measuring 300m (984ft) by 100m (328ft) was well alight when crews from Princetown and Yelverton attended.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service said both fires, which were extinguished late in the evening, were believed to have been started deliberately.
