Grenade discovered in Plymouth's Central Park

Part of Plymouth's Central Park was cordoned off after what is believed to be an unexploded hand grenade was found by a member of the public.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the device was found "half buried in a bank" in the park near Trelawney Avenue.

Royal Navy explosive ordnance disposal experts were called to the park to remove the grenade.

The cordon was lifted and the park was fully reopened at about 17:00 GMT.
