Malborough body find: Man charged with murder

A man has appeared in court charged with murder after the death of a 32-year-old man whose body was found on the street in a south Devon village.

The body of Andrew Wingren, from south Wales, was discovered in the Higher Town area of Malborough on Saturday.

Jermain Maguire, 22, from Penarth in Vale of Glamorgan, appeared before magistrates in Torquay.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Plymouth Crown Court on 6 February.

Mr Wingren's body was found at 06:55 GMT on Saturday.

Devon and Cornwall Police launched an investigation after the discovery.
