Man bailed over attempted robbery at Totnes post office

A man has been released on bail following an attempted robbery on a Devon post office on Christmas Day.

The occupants of a four-wheel drive car tried to steal a machine at the post office in Bridgetown, Totnes, but left empty handed.

A second vehicle which left the scene crashed later in Totnes Road.

Two people ran from the vehicle, but a third who was trapped had to be released by firefighters. The man was later bailed by police until March.
