New memorial commemorates Exeter fallen since WWII

A new memorial to servicemen from Exeter who have died during active service since World War II has been unveiled in the city.

The memorial, at Northernhay Gardens, includes a tablet listing the names of 10 service personnel who have lost their lives in recent conflicts.

They include troops who died in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Their names were read out during a service for the unveiling, which was held at 10:30 BST.

The service was concluded with the Last Post.
