Devon and Cornwall Police use 101 for non-emergencies

The non-emergency number for Devon and Cornwall Police is to be replaced full-time with 101 from 2 September, the force says.

Both 101 and 08452 777444 have been operating side-by-side since last September.

The force said the use of 101 only for non-emergencies was part of a national roll-out with a number which was easy for the public to remember.

The 999 number was still the one to call in emergency situations, it added.

Calls to 101 cost 15pe from a landline or mobile phone in England and Wales.
