Totnes & District Agricultural Show postponed over weather

An agricultural show in Devon has been postponed because of "unprecedented poor weather".

The Totnes & District Agricultural Show scheduled for 29 July will now take place on 26 August.

Chairman Peter Bethell said: "We wanted the show to go ahead rather than to cancel."

He added he was hopeful for "excellent" visitor numbers as 26 August was a bank holiday, but anticipated that some exhibitors would be unable to attend.

In 2011 more than 16,000 tickets were sold.
