A man who was wanted in connection with the death of his mother in Devon has been arrested in the Gloucester area.

The body of 63-year-old Linda Sheard was found in the Brixington area of Exmouth, Devon, on Wednesday.

Thirty officers from Devon and Cornwall Police have been involved in the murder investigation.

A police spokesman said 30-year-old Andrew Cane was arrested on suspicion of murder in the early hours. He is being held in custody in Exeter.
