Plymouth man Craig Goldstone re-arrested after escape

A man who escaped from police custody while being questioned about a serious sexual assault has been re-arrested.

Craig Goldstone, 28, escaped from Charles Cross Police Station in Plymouth at about 10:00 BST on Saturday and was re-arrested that evening.

Devon and Cornwall Police said Mr Goldstone, who was initially arrested on Friday, would be questioned about the escape as a criminal matter.

The force is conducting an investigation into how he escaped.

The escape was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission which referred the matter back to the force.
