Plymouth man, Craig Goldstone, escapes from police custody

A man who was arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in a Devon city has escaped from police custody.

Craig Goldstone, 28, escaped from Charles Cross Police Station in Plymouth at about 10:00 BST.

The force said he was arrested on Friday and advised people not to approach him.

He is known to have lived in the Devonport and Stonehouse areas of the city.

Mr Goldstone is described as 6ft 2ins tall, of medium build, clean shaven with brown eyes and short dark brown hair.

He has tattoos on the back of his neck and on the inside of both arms.

The incident was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission who has referred the matter back to the force for a local investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
