East and West at Dartington Hall


A celebration has been held in Devon in honour of a Nobel prize winner who is said to have inspired an arts venue in the county.

Bengali poet and story-teller Rabindranath Tagore is often referred to as Bengal's Shakespeare having composed the Indian and Bangladeshi national anthems as well as winning the Nobel literature prize in 1913.

Events including music and dance were held at Dartington Hall over the Easter weekend in honour of him and his thoughts on social equality and the arts.
