Plymouth Life Centre prices revealed

Plymouth Life Centre Managers say the centre has been designed for the city's residents

Prices for using Plymouth's new multi-purpose leisure facility in Central Park have been revealed.

The £46.5m Life Centre is due to open in February 2012.

A swimming session will cost £3.80 for an adult and £2.70 for a child up to 16, while swimming lessons for children will be £4.

Gym sessions will be £5 for adults, and monthly membership fees - including gym, fitness classes and swimming - will be £39 for an adult.

Sports and Leisure Management Limited (SLM), which will run the centre, revealed the price list on its website.

As well as the 10-lane, 50m swimming pool and multi-purpose sports hall, the centre includes a 15m climbing wall, bowling rink and multi-purpose areas for dance, drama and martial arts.

Manager Dave Greenwood said: "It is a centre designed for the people of Plymouth.

"Yes, there will be international swimming and netball events held there, but, first and foremost, it's the main leisure centre for Plymouth."
