About 10 jobs based at Plymouth Airport are to be cut because Air Southwest's operations centre is to be closed, the BBC understands.

The move follows last year's takeover of the city-based Air Southwest by Eastern Airways.

Work carried out by airline staff who will be affected includes planning flights routes and co-ordinating flights between airports.

Operations will be handled instead at Eastern's Humberside base.
