Plans to sell off a leisure complex in Devon are going ahead.

Plymouth City Council's cabinet has approved a "soft marketing" exercise to find out if anyone wants to buy the Pavilions site.

The leisure pool and ice rink at the city centre Pavilions are due to close next autumn when the Plymouth Life Centre opens at Central Park.

Plans to include an ice rink at the new £46m centre were abandoned in July.

The city council said although the Life Centre could not accommodate a full size ice rink, it was committed to providing an ice facility somewhere in the city.

The Pavilions was described as a "prime site" which the council hoped would encourage "significant interest" from developers.
