STANDARD 08:10 Shower risk

It's a dry start with some bright or sunny spells. Cloud will increase through the morning, bringing the risk of a light shower later on. Breezy at times, with highs of 22C (72F).

STANDARD 08:17 Road problems

A broken down lorry is causing delays on the A617 southbound in Temple Normanton, reports our travel news team.

There is also congestion on the M1 southbound between J30 and J29 following an earlier breakdown.

STANDARD 08:25 Peaty strikes gold again

Derby swimmer Adam Peaty picked up his second gold of the Commonwealth Games last night as part of the 4x100m men's relay.

The 19-year-old from Uttoxeter, who trains in Derby, swam the breaststroke leg to help the England team set a new Commonwealth record.

STANDARD 08:35 Silver for Sharman

Long Eaton's Will Sharman was Derbyshire's other medallist yesterday, picking up silver in the 110m hurdles.

The win means athletes who live or train in our county have now picked up nine medals at Glasgow 2014.

A woman from Derby with terminal cancer says she's determined to help others after she's died.

Angela Tideswell wants to donate her body to medical science to aid research into the disease.

STANDARD 09:23 Third pool fire arrest

BBC Radio Derby

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man over a suspected arson attack at Ashbourne Leisure Centre at the weekend.

Two other teenagers have already been arrested and bailed in connection with the blaze, which damaged the centre's pool.
