Woman's 'suspicious' death probed in Derby

Police in Hartington Street, Derby The area has been cordoned off while investigations take place

The death of a woman whose body was found in a Derby street is being treated as "suspicious", police have said.

Officers were called to Hartington Street, off Normanton Road, at about 11:00 BST.

Police said an investigation had been launched and officers remained at the scene while it was being examined.

Anyone with information about the woman's death has been asked to contact Derbyshire Police.

    Three cyclists injured in hit-and-run 13:11:

    A 24-year-old cyclist from South Derbyshire was one of three injured in a hit-and run in Kent, police have said.

    The cyclists were struck by a vehicle on the A2 in Ashford on Tuesday night. You can read more online.

    The chief executive of Burton Hospitals NHS Trust says she fully believes the trust will be out of special measures within the next six months.

    Helen Ashley said: "We're already talking to the Care Quality Commission about when they might come back and re-review the hospital [Queen's Hospital] because we're very confident that, within a few months, we'll have made all the changes we need to make."

    The switch-on has taken place and BBC Radio Derby is now official broadcasting on DAB Digital Radio.

    This is the first phase of our DAB rollout, covering about 350,000 people in the Derby area from a transmitter in Quarndon, but more transmitters covering other parts of Derbyshire and East Staffordshire will be added over the next year.

    The chief executive of the trust in charge of Burton's Queen's Hospital says she's confident required improvements will be made ahead of its next set of inspections.

    Yesterday the Care Quality Commission recommended the trust stay in special measures for a further six months as it needed to raise standards in a range of areas, including patient care, children's services and dementia provision.
