Cyclist found unconscious under Derby's Pride Parkway flyover

A cyclist is being treated for serious head injuries after he was found unconscious under a bridge in Derby.

Police said it was fortunate that a fellow cyclist found the 54-year-old man, sprawled near to his bike under the Pride Parkway flyover near the Alexandra pub.

He was found at 01:30 BST but police do not know how long he had been there.

They have not been able to speak to the man and do not know if he was attacked or had an accident.

    A 14-year-old boy broke both legs and several ribs when he fell 7m (23ft) at Stanage Edge yesterday afternoon.

    A convicted robber who went on the run from an open prison in Lincolnshire has handed himself in at a police station in Chesterfield.

    Sean Sisson, 27, was serving a seven-year sentence for robbery and arson when he absconded from North Sea Camp near Boston on 22 December.

    A motorist was lucky to walk away unharmed after his car plummeted 20ft down an embankment off the A38 and crashed through a fence.
