Two arrested over Nutbrook Trail death

Two men have been arrested following the death of a man found injured on a trail used by walkers and cyclists in Derbyshire.

Emergency services were called to Merlin Way, near to the Quarry Hill Industrial Estate, Ilkeston, at about 01.20 BST.

A 28-year-old man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre, where he later died.

Two men, aged 24 and 20, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

    Burton Albion will have Dean Lyness in goal because on-loan Bury goalkeeper Rob Lainton may miss the rest of the season due to a finger injury.

    Freddy Hall, who has signed on a short-term deal, is set to be on the bench while Callum McFadzean is a doubt.

    The Air Ambulance Service in Derbyshire is offering safety advice this weekend.

    The service says it sees a rise in incidents around this time every year as people take advantage of the warmer weather and longer days.

    Paramedic Pip Gibbs says: "If you're unfortunate to have an incident you should always make sure people know where you are before you go out so you can be found."

    Woman in hospital after dishwasher fire 08:50: BBC Radio Derby

    An elderly woman's been taken to hospital after her dishwasher set on fire.

    Crews were called to Derby Road, in Ambergate, just after 02:30 and found the house heavily smoke logged. They removed the dishwasher after putting out the fire.
