The death of a man found collapsed in a Derbyshire street is being treated as suspicious, police said.

Detectives from the East Midlands Major Crime Unit launched an investigation after he was found at 23:35 BST on Friday in Mansfield Road, South Normanton.

He has not been formally identified but is thought to be 32-years-old and not from South Normanton, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at King's Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

He was found by a couple walking along the road.

A search of the area was made overnight and will continue on Saturday while officers carry out house to house enquiries.
