Runner badly hurt in Chesterfield car crash

A runner suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by a car while running in Derbyshire.

The accident happened at 22:40 BST on the A61 south of Chesterfield, near the Hunloke Arms pub.

Police said the car, a Ford Focus, remained at the scene. Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The man was taken to the Northern General hospital suffering from multiple fractures and his condition is described as life-threatening.

    The Derby Telegraph says there will be about 5,000 rubber ducks on the river, with events starting at 11:00.

    A heavily pregnant teenager who went missing from Burton has been found by police.

    Staffordshire Police appealed for help finding 18-year-old Devone Derrig.

    The woman who is 34 weeks pregnant was found safe and well in Swadlincote last night.

    A 58-year-old woman from Buxton has been arrested after an alleged assault on a worker at a gas drilling site near Doncaster.

    Nottinghamshire Police were called to a number of reports of criminal damage and threatening behaviour at Daneshill near Bawtry.

    They're investigating claims that Dart Energy's site manager was assaulted in the early hours of yesterday morning.
