A Derbyshire baby is hit on the head with a stone thrown from a car

A 10-month-old baby was hit on the head after stones were thrown from a car at him and his mother.

The woman was pushing her son in a pram along Nottingham Road in Ilkeston, Derbyshire at about 20:00 BST on Thursday.

Stones were thrown from the passenger window of the vehicle - thought to be a silver Honda - and the baby was hit on the head.

He suffered swelling but was not seriously hurt.

Derbyshire police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
