A head teacher at a junior school in Derbyshire has been arrested on suspicion of possession of indecent images of children.
Matthew Pendleton, 36, was arrested in Alfreton on 22 January, and has since been bailed.
Derbyshire County Council said the man had resigned from the school.
The acting head teacher said in a letter to parents Mr Pendleton was subject to a police investigation and will not be returning.
