Three people have been charged over the murder of a Derbyshire man found assaulted in his home.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Canal Street in Ilkeston on Wednesday evening where a man was found with injuries.

Paramedics tried to save 48-year-old Michael Andrew Moss but he later died.

One man, 26, has been charged with murder. A man, also 26, and a woman, 46, have been charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm (GBH).

All three were due to appear before Derby magistrates on Saturday.

Derbyshire Police said a 24-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder had been released without charge.

A post-mortem examination found the man died from injuries suffered during an assault.
