Four people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a man found assaulted in his home.

Paramedics tried to save Michael Andrew Moss, 48, after emergency services were called to a disturbance in Canal Street, Ilkeston, on Wednesday evening.

Derbyshire Constabulary said they have arrested two men, aged 26 and 24, on suspicion of murder.

A 46-year-old woman and 26-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

A post-mortem examination found the man died from injuries suffered during an assault.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses who saw two men leaving the house around the time of the incident at about 21:00 GMT.

The men were seen getting into a silver vehicle and driving off.

Police have also asked anyone who saw the vehicle in the area to contact them.
