Plans for a supermarket on the site of a Derbyshire council's offices have been approved.

Sherwood Lodge, currently the headquarters of Bolsover District Council, was put up for sale last year.

Supermarket chain Morrisons said the scheme, expected to be completed early 2014, would bring 250 jobs to the Bolsover area.

The council is to move its main offices to the former Chesterfield College Campus in Clowne in the new year.

Also approved were plans for a contact centre in Middle Street, hosting some council services and a police station.
