Eight arrests after air rifle fired in Chesterfield
Eight people have been arrested after an air rifle was fired from a flat in Derbyshire injuring two people and damaging a neighbouring property.
Derbyshire Police were called to Didcot Close in Chesterfield on Sunday morning after reports of an air rifle being fired from a flat.
A 20-year-old man was hit in the back by a pellet and a police community support officer was hit in the leg while responding to a complaint.
They both suffered minor injuries.
Damage was caused to a window of a house on Kingsclere Walk.
Three men aged between 18 and 21, four 17-year old youths and an 18-year-old woman were arrested.
Seven of those arrested have been released on police bail but one 17-year-old youth remains in police custody.
