Car crashes into Derbyshire terraced houses

Terraced house The BMW crashed into the terraced properties in the early hours

Three people have been taken to hospital in Derby after a car crashed into a row of houses.

The fire service said a BMW left the road on the bend of Nottingham Road in Borrowash hitting the terraced properties on Saturday.

It said police were called just after 01:30 BST.

The fire service and a structural engineer were at scene throughout the morning.

The landlord of several of the properties in the terrace said one of his tenants was watching television when he saw brickwork go flying past him.

Carl Darby said: "He just couldn't believe it was happening around him... he was surprised he didn't get hit."
