West Coast rethink prompts call for Thameslink review

Help

A group of MPs has called for the government to review its decision to award the £1.4bn Thameslink contract to German firm Siemens in light of the West Coast Main Line rethink.

Mid Derbyshire Conservative member Pauline Latham and three other MPs have written to the Department of Transport in support of Derby-based trainmaker Bombardier.

Ms Latham claims scrapping the West Coast mainline franchise deal also provided an opportunity for the government to revisit Thameslink.
