Man left 'critical' after Sinfin attack

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering a serious assault in part of Derby.

Police were called to Grampian Way in Sinfin, near the library at about 15:25 BST on Saturday to reports of a disturbance.

One man, aged 40, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains critical, a Derbyshire Police spokesman said.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Although officers said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the assault, anyone who may have witnessed the attack is asked to contact Derbyshire Police.
