Rainbow Day Care Centre in Derby hit by late night fire

Fire-damaged day care centre in Derby An investigation has now been started

A day care centre in Derby has been damaged in an overnight fire.

Fire crews were called to the Rainbow Day Care Centre on Village Street at about 23:00 BST on Sunday.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue said officers spent two hours putting out the blaze at the rear of the two-storey building.

Nobody was hurt but a cordon was put in place for the fire service and police to carry out a joint investigation.
