Taddington bypass repair work to start

Resurfacing work is due to start on the A6 Taddington bypass, in Derbyshire, later.

The £300,000 repair scheme will be carried out between 19:00 and 06:00 BST each night for around two weeks, apart from at weekends.

Work will be carried out along a 1.2 mile (1.9 km) stretch near the villages of Taddington and Hollow O'the Moor.

Derbyshire County Council said one side of the carriageway will remain closed to allow work to take place.

Councillor Simon Spencer, the authority's deputy leader, said: "We've set aside £20m to help improve Derbyshire's roads this year and we hope motorists will bear with us while this important repair work takes place."
