Glossop station attack death: Teenager arrested

A teenager has been arrested by police investigating the death of a man who was hit outside a Derbyshire station.

Ambulance crews were called to Glossop Railway Station in Norfolk Street at 17:45 GMT on Saturday.

It followed reports that a 63-year-old man from Hyde, Greater Manchester, had been punched in the face after an argument with three people.

The man was taken to hospital, but died on Sunday. A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and a murder inquiry launched.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Derbyshire police or Crimestoppers.
