Nottingham Forest v Derby County match cancelled

The cold weather and poor road conditions have forced the cancellation of the Championship match between Derby County and Nottingham Forest.

Derby County chief executive Tom Glick said the game had been postponed on safety grounds.

The match was due to kick off at 12.15 GMT.

The poor weather also caused travel disruption in both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire with some bus services affected.

The clubs called off the fixture after discussions with the match officials, police and the Football League.

Mr Glick said: "The problem we have is that the roads are a nightmare so we have a safety issue and a customer service issue.

"We have fans we know who couldn't get here because they couldn't get out of their drives or their homes."

He said there was "massive anticipation" for the match, which has not yet been rescheduled.
