Recycling firm Merritt Plastics invests £3m on extension

Fifteen jobs have been created at Merritt Plastics, after its factory extension

The largest recycling centre for plastic window frames in the UK has been developed in Derbyshire after a £3m factory extension.

Fifteen jobs have been created following the investment at Merritt Plastics in Ilkeston.

The company recycles frames made out of PVC-U (Unplasticised Poly Vinyl Chloride).

Old frames are shredded and a new product is used to insulate a window, increasing its thermal efficiency.
