Two men hurt in Derby street stabbing

Whittington Street in Allenton Police assured residents they were tackling knife crime

Two men have been treated in hospital after being stabbed in Derby.

Emergency services were called to Whittington Street in Allenton at about 0500 GMT and found the two victims.

Police said the men had been kept in hospital and would be interviewed as soon as possible.

Officers added that it was currently unclear how the men had come to be hurt and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Insp Kam Bria said: "Although this is the second incident within the last couple of months where a stabbing incident has occurred on Derby East, I want to reassure residents we are doing everything we can to tackle knife crime through education and deal positively with those who carry weapons."
