Almost £900,000 is to be spent on major repairs to Derbyshire's roads in the next month.

Three bridges, nine roads and three footpaths will be resurfaced or repaired by the county council during February.

Four of the 15 projects are to repair damage caused by bad weather at the start of 2010.

The Skull and Crossbones Bridge in Brimington Road, Chesterfield, will have £330,000 spent on repairs.

Derbyshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, Councillor Chris Jackson, said: "These are all vital works that will make a difference to local people."

Most work is expected to be finished by the end of February but The Skull and Crossbones Bridge project will last until May.
