Injured man rescued after fall in Derbyshire

A 42-year-old man has been rescued after falling from a rocky outcrop in Derbyshire.

The man, from Winsall near Burton-on-Trent, tripped and went over the edge, hitting two ledges and falling more than 40ft (12.2m).

Derby Mountain Rescue Team responded to the call on 4 September about an incident near Birchover.

He suffered injuries to his back, neck, shoulder and face and was initially treated on the scene by a paramedic.

The injured man was carried on a specialised rescue stretcher from an area known as the Lord's Seat to an air ambulance for transport to the Royal Derby Hospital.
