Lake District search for climate indicator plant

3 July 2014 Last updated at 22:21 BST

A group of volunteers in the Lake District have climbed nearly 100 peaks looking for a tiny plant, which could be an indicator of climate change.

The dwarf willow, technically a tree, grows between rocks and is only centimetres high.

The team is mapping the location of the plants, because their altitude and distribution may offer clues about possible changes in the climate.
