Cumbria Police officers arrested over fraud claims

Two serving Cumbria Police officers have been arrested on suspicion of fraud, the force has confirmed.

The pair, a woman aged 36 and a man, 39, who both work at Barrow police station, were suspended after being arrested on 28 May.

The allegations relate to a stolen credit card and its fraudulent use between 10 May and 16 May.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of fraud and theft while the man was arrested on suspicion of fraud.

A force spokesman said its professional standards department was investigating the allegations.

No-one has so far been charged.
